Katisha Burt was born and raised in Albany, New York. Her first love is Poetry, while her second is Theater. For 12 years she taught various grades in her city of Albany from 2nd to 7th, as well as short teaching stints in Miami, Florida with grades K-12. Her first book, "Press the Ishu: A Hustla's Street Tale," is an autobiographical imitation of Rita Doves Pulitzer-Prize-winning book "Thomas and Beulah." Through trial and error, Katisha started self-publishing and hasn’t looked back. She’s published hundreds of LCB’s (Low Content Books) Children’s Books, Young Adult Fiction, Chapbooks, Poetry, eBooks, and Audio Books.
